UWR Continues Life in the Fast Lane

The 2023 Praga Cup Zeo Prototype motor racing season drew to a close recently with the final meeting at Snetterton. Eclipse Magnetics is a sponsor of the University of Wolverhampton Racing Team (pictured), and we are pleased to report on a successful season  in terms of  on track performance and student development.

The final round ended in disappointment in challenging rain-affected conditions. The team was also trialling new technical developments for 2024, which hampered performance but provided vital data for the 2024 season.

Sadly, the team did not manage a podium finish at Snetterton, but we are pleased to report that UWR managed to achieve multiple wins throughout the season. The team was further boosted by the news that Shane Kelly was awarded the prestigious “Driver of the Year” trophy for gathering the most points throughout the season.

Equally important is the pathway and hands-on experience UWR creates for their students. Many of the class of 2023 have secured positions in a variety of disciplines with the leading names in motorsport.

Laura Dudley, Development Manager at the University of Wolverhampton, commented “We are grateful to our sponsors, without which we would not have been able to offer opportunities for students to be part of the UWR team to gain vital skills and experience to support their careers after graduation”.
