Eclipse Magnetics Shortlisted for Excellence in Sustainable Innovation at the IPE Awards 2024

IPE Awards 2024 - Eclipse MagneticsWe are thrilled to announce that Eclipse Magnetics has been shortlisted for the Excellence in Sustainable Innovation (UK & EMEA) category at the prestigious IPE Awards 2024. This recognition highlights our unwavering commitment to sustainability and our ambitious journey towards achieving Net Zero emissions.

Since embarking on our sustainability journey in 2021, we have made significant strides towards our environmental goals. We have successfully reduced our emissions by 34% from our baseline calculations, bringing our current emissions to 64% lower than the manufacturing sector average. These accomplishments underscore our dedication to achieving Net Zero status for scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030, and scope 3 emissions by 2040.

One of our key initiatives includes the re-evaluation of our packaging materials. We are transitioning from plastic to recycled and recyclable cardboard designs, aiming to eliminate one million pieces of single-use plastic from our supply chain by 2025. We have already reached 39% of this target, demonstrating our proactive approach to sustainability.

Additionally, we have implemented a Net Zero procurement policy to ensure environmentally-conscious purchasing decisions and have engaged with our suppliers to set Science Based Target Initiative aligned targets. Our recent switch to a Carbon Balanced print supplier, endorsed by the World Land Trust, exemplifies our commitment to reducing net emissions.

Our transition to electric vehicles is well underway, with over 50% of our company car fleet now fully electric. We have installed electric charging points at our head office, sourcing all energy from green sources.

Harnessing the free energy of permanent magnetic technology is a cornerstone of our product innovation. Our magnetic lifters, filtration systems, and separation equipment require no power for operation, helping our customers reduce their carbon emissions while optimising their processes. Our magnetic filtration systems, in particular, eliminate the need for disposable filters, extend fluid life, and reduce environmental contamination and maintenance requirements.

We are proud to manufacture our products in the UK whenever possible, actively reducing our carbon emissions throughout our supply chain and delivery logistics. Our commitment to sustainability is embedded in every aspect of our operations, from product design to end-use.

Being shortlisted for the Excellence in Sustainable Innovation award is a testament to our efforts and progress in creating a more sustainable future. We are excited to continue this journey and contribute to a greener world for future generations.
